Luncheon Topic: Idea -> Development -> Launch: Applying the Startup Methodology to For-Profits, Non-Profits and Life
Do you dream about starting up a business or organization, launching a big idea at work, or embarking on a new business venture? Good! Because we need more women entrepreneurs building scalable businesses! Together, we’ll talk about the small steps you take every day to go from big idea to launch. And we’ll definitely cover how to get around those hurdles specific to women.
Kristen Cooper is the Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations at Sticksnleaves. Sticksnleaves is a product development and consulting firm that works with entrepreneurs and established companies to design, develop and execute web and mobile applications. Ms. Cooper’s role is to help scale the company by developing new collaborations with growth-stage and mature businesses, and expand collaborations with women and minority entrepreneurs who want to build new products. Additionally, she develops relationships with investors throughout the country to identify more funding opportunities for Sticksnleaves’ clients.
Ms. Cooper most recently served as Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships & Membership Sales and Events at the Indy Chamber, where, among other things, she was responsible for launching the highly successful Women in Business series. Prior to the Chamber, she was the Director of Operations at the Riverview Hospital Foundation, and held Major Gifts Officer positions at Butler University and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
In August 2014, Ms. Cooper started up a community movement called the Launch Ladies. The group seeks to identify, educate, connect and launch more women entrepreneurs through monthly luncheons and bi-monthly Startup Study Halls. The luncheons allow attendees to build relationships with experienced executives and fellow budding entrepreneurs. Throughout her career, Ms. Cooper has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars for non-profit organizations and developing sales and marketing strategies to creatively engage donors and clients in growing revenue. She is also a strong advocate for alleviating poverty among women and children. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
