Tornado season is here! Are your employees/clients prepared? Is your business prepared?

Does your business have a disaster plan in place for severe weather? What do you do if the tornado siren sounds? What do you tell your customers? If you are driving where should you go?

Joe Krupa, owner of SWAT (Severe Weather Alert Team) will provide informational handouts and checklists as well as answer all of these important questions during our April meeting to help you be better prepared in case of a weather related emergency.

Joe grew up in Southington, CT and currently lives in Yorktown, IN. He has been interested in studying and chasing severe weather since witnessing the destructive power of the May 31, 1985 tornado outbreak across western PA where some of his friends lost their homes.

Joe has been actively chasing and documenting severe weather since moving to Indiana nearly 20 years ago. His company provides information, as well as video and photos, to the National Weather Service and other media outlets. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and is a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Joe has been an amateur radio operator for 25 years and currently holds an Extra Class FCC license in the service. Joe is a merit deputy with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana and a state certified EMS First Responder.  SWAT received the EDGE award from Indiana Small Business Development Center Network’s Economic Development through Growth and Entrepreneurship (EDGE) in the Emerging Category – Storm chasers in 2012.
